Birdwatching

Birdwatching is one of Oliver the cat's favorite activities. When he sits on one of his many perches to watch the passing robins, nothing else captures his attention. This painting is 8" w x 10" h and is unframed. SOLD

Cat at Rest

After reading a book and drinking a glass of wine, sometimes one needs a nap. And I was going to take one until Oliver the cat kicked me off the sofa. He hadn't read a book or drank any wine, but I guess watching the birds fly outside the window can be almost as tiresome. This painting is 8" w x 10" h. SOLD

Before Dinner

The painting was inspired by the interior of a restaurant in Quebec City, Canada. I vacationed there (and gathered subject matter) in May. This was the perfect cafe...it smelled like a combination of candles, wine, and the age that builds in old structures over time. It was dimly illuminated with candlelight, chandeliers and the light from the window. The place added warmth to an otherwise cold and rainy day.SOLD

Inviting Chair

This painting is 10" h x 8" w. It was inspired by an interior of a bed & breakfast in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to art, one of my favorite things is interior design. I use my need for subject matter as an excuse to visit places like this. It is for sale without a frame. I'm not sure if people prefer their paintings framed or not... I think of the frame as part of the art. If it is an interior scene, I try to choose a frame that you would actually see in that room. As an interior designer though, I am very picky with the frames that go into my house, and I am sensitive to the fact that my customers may be the same way. SOLD

Bed and Breakfast Interior II

This is another interior scene, painted from a photograph that I took at a bed & breakfast. I love interiors. When I travel, I fall in love with the places I see and want to take them home with me. So, I take pictures and repaint them. Then when I look at them they transport me to my vacations (unless someone buys them). This painting will be at my exhibit at the Third Street Gallery in Carnegie, PA. SOLD

How to Get Comfortable?

This cat looks like he is having trouble getting comfortable. He seems to be in the midst of twirling around for the best vantage point. The oil painting is 8" w x 10" h and was painted from a photo. It will be at the International Images gallery in Sewickley, PA for the town's annual Spring Gallery Walk on April 11th. SOLD

Dog on a Bed

Helga the dog is my cat's cousin, as she belongs to my aunt. In this painting she relaxes on a bed in an ornate Victorian room.

Cat In a Window

Oliver the cat's favorite place to sleep is on the window seat, especially in late February when he has cabin fever. SOLD

Looking Out the Window II

Oliver is a great model and muse. In this painting, however, he is visibly tired of living with the paparazzi and just wants to look out the window without having his picture taken (this was painted from a photograph). Maybe I'll give him a break and just let him be a regular cat for a few days. SOLD

Looking out the Window

Oliver the cat likes to hang out with me while I paint and provide moral support. He usually sleeps in this chair or looks out the window, then I have to stop painting to take his picture. SOLD

Getting Ready for a Nap

This is a new oil painting inspired by my Oliver. It is currently for sale on Ebay. The painting is approximately 11" x 14" and includes a carved gold frame. The warm light from the lamp in the room creates a moody contrast with the cool light from outside the window. SOLD
