Outside of Grand Central Station

Outside of Grand Central Station people bustle about, and fortunately there is a hot dog stand for a quick bite before or after hopping on a train. I liked the contrast between the warm lights of the building and the cool buildings in the background. Oil on 12"h x 9"w x 1" stretched canvas. SOLD.

Morning in Manhattan

I painted this view of  a Manhattan Street from  a reference photo I took on a recent trip to New York. I visited in March during the Affordable Art Fair. The weather was mostly overcast, but the sun came out on the last day, illuminating this vibrantly colored residential street. Oil on 18"h x 14"w x 1" stretched linen. SOLD.

Sunny Morning in Manhattan

This was painted from a reference photo I took during a morning walk in Manhattan. The air was crisp and clear, which produced a lot of contrast among the buildings. I painted this one a little differently than usual, using a palette knife for most of the piece, as I wanted it to have a more spontaneous look. This painting is on a 20"h x 24"w x 1 1/2" gallery wrapped canvas with finished raw umber-colored edges. It comes ready to hang.

This is one of seventeen paintings that I will have at the Affordable Art Fair in New York City! My work will be in the UGallery booth (booth 1.2) If you are in New York from March 25 - 29, please stop in to see the collection! SOLD.

Sidewalk Cafe in Paris II

I painted this from a photo that I took in Paris in 2010, even though I have subject matter to paint from my trip this past May. Painting trees, vehicles and groups of people frightened me in the past, and this painting contains all three, so I finally got around to painting it now. There are a few others from the 2010 trip that I am currently working on to go with my current series of French subject matter.
