Gold and Yellow

Gold cup, yellow sunflower on a gold-rimmed saucer. I basically used the same yellows and oranges to create all of the golds and yellows, but the application sometimes determines what we call it. SOLD.

Cafe Chairs

Since the beginning of February, I have been working on about 15 medium to large(ish) paintings, and have not been able to complete any of them. It is probably too many to work on all at once, but I wanted them all to have a similar theme and style. This is a small painting that is indicative of the subject... Paris. This time of year, I always seem to want to go to Paris because it is the perfect place to enjoy a warm spring afternoon at an outdoor cafe with a cup of coffee. This painting is 5"h x 7"w. SOLD. 

A Smart Snack

This is the same Orange that I posted last month, but I added books and a bottle of wine, transforming it into a smart snack. It is 5" h x 7" w.

Orange

I don't paint still lifes much unless they are part of an interior scene. Plus because there are so many of them in the world, do I really need to create more of them? I just painted this one for fun and because I liked how the sunlight made the pericarp (that's technically what the white part is called) and the pith (which surprisingly contains nearly the same amount of vitamin C as the flesh, according to Wikipedia) glow. This painting no longer exists as pictured...see "A Smart Snack".

Flock of Shoes

My mother and I set up and painted still lifes together last week. This is one that we came up with, it reminds me of a flock of birds (like seagulls, ha ha). SOLD.

Red and Yellow Pear

This oil painting would look really groovy in a thick, carved gold frame. It is 4" h x 5" w.

After Dinner

This is an oldie...I painted it in 2006. The painting pictures a lady finishing a glass of wine after dinner. SOLD

Cat with Grapes and Wine

Oliver the cat always tries to steal my food. In this painting he is eying my grapes, probably because I had just washed them and he wanted to drink the water that dripped off of them. Alas, I was able to protect my snack and I rewarded him with a kitty treat for creating such a picturesque scene. SOLD
