Honfleur Boats III

A view of boats on a sunny Sunday morning in Honfleur, France. I keep emphasizing the sunny weather because I felt extremely lucky to have good weather for art purposes while there. Oil on 11"h x 14"w stretched linen. SOLD.

Honfleur Boats II

I love the chaos of Honfleur. With the buildings, boats, colors, people, restaurants and water, there is so much to look at. Oil on 18"h x 24"w stretched linen. SOLD.

Sidewalk Cafe in Honfleur

This is a view of some sidewalk cafes in Honfleur, France on a sunny spring morning. Tables are lined up along the street in front of the harbor. It is very relaxing to sit at one of the tables with a cup of coffee overlooking the boats. Well, unless you are like me and incessantly photograph the surroundings.

Trouville Town Study

This is the view from the bridge that links Deauville and Trouville, France. We stayed in Deauville a few weeks ago and found that we were able to walk to Trouville from there. When planning the trip, I wasn't sure how walkable it would be. Though it takes a while, especially when taking frequent picture-taking stops, it can be done. You can also rent bikes, which I think I may do next time. And there WILL be a next time, as three days was not enough to thoroughly explore these two towns in addition to Honfleur! I sadly didn't get to try the oysters from the market in Trouville, and need to go back just for that. Oil on 6"h x 8"w canvas board. SOLD.

Trouville Beach Study

This is one of the first paintings I've done from the new material gathered during my recent trip to France. I was inspired to visit Trouville by the paintings Monet did of these same buildings in the late 1800s. This painting shows the afternoon light. I have many more paintings of France to follow. Oil on 6"h x 8"w canvas board. SOLD.
