Grand Marnier

It is difficult for me to accomplish anything this time of year, so I started some tiny paintings that I can finish in a day or so to gain a sense of accomplishment. This is a sample bottle of Grand Marnier with a shot glass. I have many other tiny paintings on the way! SOLD.

Between Rounds

A kickboxer taking a break between rounds of sparring. This painting is part of my fight camp series. I took the reference photos at Elite Combative Systems in Indiana, PA, during a time when some of my fellow students were training extra hard for fights. I liked the gloves, so I decided to paint a small one of just them in the "Blue Boxing Gloves" painting. Oil on 18"h x 24"w x 1 1/2" stretched linen.

Blue Boxing Gloves

A painting of my retired blue boxing gloves. In many ways, martial arts relates to painting. In both, the tools can help or hinder the work one does. I chose to paint my old boxing gloves, which helped preserve my hands during bag work. This not only ensures that I will be able to keep practicing martial arts, but also that I will protect my hands for painting! Oil on 8"h x 10"w x 1 1/2" stretched canvas.
