Sparring Day

At Elite Combative Systems in Indiana, PA, we dedicate at least one kickboxing class per week to sparring. We put everything we learn on technique days to practice, and we all work together to help each other improve. Oil on 30"h x 24"w x 1 1/2" stretched linen.

Slip and Roll Drill

This is a new subject for me. I have a background in Tae Kwon Do, and about three years ago I started taking kickboxing classes at an MMA gym that had just opened in my town, called Elite Combative Systems. It recently occurred to me that I should capture my coaches and fellow students in action.

This is the first in my "Fight Camp" series. I wanted to show the day to day practice sessions at the gym. Much like oil painting, martial arts requires discipline, regular practice, and one should enjoy the process as much as reaching incremental goals. It is the process that I want to capture in this series! Oil on 30"h x 24"w x 1 1/2" d stretched linen.

Sassy Cat

My cat, Oliver looked more sassy and grumpy than he actually was. He was very shy when we first adopted him, but over time he became like a little shadow, accompanying us wherever we went in the house. This was part of UGallery's Ornamental Artwork Collection, which can be viewed here. SOLD.

Cat with Coffee and Sunflower

This is a painting of my Stella with a cup of coffee. I meant to photograph still lifes of coffee with desserts and sunflowers, but Stella had to investigate, so I ended up photographing her as well. This is a pretty accurate depiction of her daily activities, as she normally sits three inches from my plate at dinner, waiting for a bite of food to fall off. I usually give her a little bite.

This was part of UGallery's Ornamental Artwork Collection, which can be viewed here. SOLD.
