On Guard

This museum guard spends his days guarding oil paintings, but probably did not suspect that he would end up in a painting (and also probably wondered why the heck I was taking his picture). This oil painting is on 6" w x 12" h x 1" thick canvas. SOLD.

Bottles and Books

The bottle and wineglass reflect in the mirror, alluding to an abundance of wine! The window, provides the source of light and reflects on the bottle and glass, which creates their forms. The books are on the shelf below. Few things are better than a relaxing glass of Cabernet after reading a good story. This is available at www.theartistshand.org. SOLD.

Cafe Interior

This painting is based on a photo that I took at a cafe in Quebec City in May. The couple at the table in the corner reads the newspaper after a late lunch. It seems like many people linger over their meals there, which is how it should be. This painting is 16" w x 20"h. SOLD.

Night Walk

This painting was inspired by a walk that I took at night in Venice, Italy. This doorway was a portal to a different street, where the shop interiors were still illuminated before closing for the night. The upper apartment windows glowed from within. SOLD

Rainy Day at Chateau Frontenac

The setting for this painting is at the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, Canada. It was a rainy day. The dark clouds and the views into the busy cafes and restaurants added coziness. I had to have several cafe lattes that day to keep warm. This painting is 8" w x 10" h. SOLD

Before Dinner

The painting was inspired by the interior of a restaurant in Quebec City, Canada. I vacationed there (and gathered subject matter) in May. This was the perfect cafe...it smelled like a combination of candles, wine, and the age that builds in old structures over time. It was dimly illuminated with candlelight, chandeliers and the light from the window. The place added warmth to an otherwise cold and rainy day.SOLD

Quebec City Rooftops

This was the view from our room in Quebec City, where we vacationed in May. It is oil on canvas board and is 8" h x 16" w. SOLD

After Dinner

This is an oldie...I painted it in 2006. The painting pictures a lady finishing a glass of wine after dinner. SOLD

LUCCA LANDSCAPE

No, I haven't been slacking off for the past few weeks. I have been working on paintings for an exhibit at the Third Street Gallery in Carnegie, PA. This is one of the three new ones that I have finished. It is a landscape near Lucca, Italy. It almost seems as though I was never there, only having visited in my dreams. This painting is 24" w x 30" h. SOLD.

This 8" w x 10" high painting of Helga the dog was painted from a photograph that I took at an aunt's house. It will be at the International Images gallery in Sewickley, PA for the town's annual Spring Gallery Walk on April 11th. SOLD

An English Cocker Spaniel in Italy

This 8" h x 10" w painting was painted from a photograph that I took in Lucca, Italy in 2007. No longer available.

Cat and Granny Smith with Wine

This painting will be at the International Images gallery in Sewickley for the annual Spring Gallery Walk on April 11th. It is an 8" h x 10" w oil on canvas. It was inspired by my cat and my afternoon snack. SOLD

Cat Portrait

This is a portrait of my Oliver, sitting on the dining room table. It is one of his favorite places because it reminds him of dinnertime, when he tries to steal the food off of our plates. In this painting he looks as though he anticipates a snack. SOLD

Cat with Grapes and Wine

Oliver the cat always tries to steal my food. In this painting he is eying my grapes, probably because I had just washed them and he wanted to drink the water that dripped off of them. Alas, I was able to protect my snack and I rewarded him with a kitty treat for creating such a picturesque scene. SOLD

Oliver the Cat with shoes

Oliver is always curious, even about shoes. I don't think they match his gray and white suit, but he looks like he wants to try them on anyway. SOLD

Looking Out the Window II

Oliver is a great model and muse. In this painting, however, he is visibly tired of living with the paparazzi and just wants to look out the window without having his picture taken (this was painted from a photograph). Maybe I'll give him a break and just let him be a regular cat for a few days. SOLD
