Unpredictable Weather in the Piazza Navona

The weather was unpredictable when we took a day trip to Rome from Florence last year, and we didn't have an umbrella. So, we just ordered another espresso at an outdoor cafe in Piazza Navona and waited for the rain to stop. It passed pretty quickly. The dramatic weather created interesting reflections on the wet cobblestones and created a rainbow for us to see by the time we reached the Vatican. SOLD,

As dinner time approaches, the streets of New York's Greenwich Village start to liven up even more . I visited in April during a warm, sunny weekend and enjoyed wandering the sunny streets at happy hour, stopping here and there for coffee or a glass of wine. Oil on 12"h x 18"w stretched linen. The Ponte Santa Trinita bridge in Florence, Italy, is bathed in the warm morning sunlight. This was painted from a photo I took during one of my morning jogs along the river. I would wake up as early as possible to catch the dramatic light on the domed buildings. This was difficult because of the long nights of wine drinking, but the plentiful espresso bars all over the city helped me accomplish my goals! SOLD.

Comfy Cat

Stella was comfortably sitting on the sofa when I interrupted her to take the reference photo for this painting. I liked how she propped herself on the pillows to get a good vantage point of the birds outside. It was a bit of a challenge to distinguish between the cat and the pillows that almost match her calico fur. Oil on 9"h x 12" w stretched linen.

The Kitchen Supervisor

Since gaining the ability to jump onto the kitchen countertop, my kitten, Alfred, supervises the preparation of every meal, and also makes sure I clean up properly. He likes to chirp at the bubbles that escape the dish soap bottle and float into the air. Oil on 12"h x 9"w stretched linen. SOLD.

My husband and I recently took a subject matter gathering trip to Italy. We stayed in Florence and took day trips to Rome and some of the smaller towns in Tuscany.
